Our local guide
Things to do in
Sestri Levante
in 3 days.
Three days of bays, old-town lanes, trails and open sea. An itinerary designed to see plenty without turning your holiday into a race.
Sestri, the way we experience it
The right pace matters as much as the places.
This is not a checklist. It comes from the tips we share in our App: early mornings in the best-loved places, a trail during the cooler hours, time by the sea and a return to the hills as the light changes.
Sea & Sestri
The two bays and the old town.

Start at the Bay of Silence before the busiest hours. After a swim, wander into the old town lanes without following a fixed route.
Choose something simple and Ligurian: focaccia, fish or a stop at one of the old-town cafés.
Walk towards the Bay of Fables and stay as the light falls across the headland. Then return to La Collina sul Mare for sunset on the terrace.
Walk and breathe
Punta Manara and Riva Trigoso.

Punta Manara is Sestri Levante’s classic trail, with Mediterranean scrub and wide sea views. Allow about 2–3 hours, start in the cooler part of the day and wear suitable shoes.
The Rocche di Sant’Anna combine history and scenery, with an old mule track and stone bridges above the coast.
After the walk, choose Riva Trigoso for lunch and a wider, more local beach than the central bays.
Tigullio from the sea
Portofino, San Fruttuoso and Camogli.

Make the sea your destination. Choose a seasonal sailing to Portofino and San Fruttuoso, or a tour with swimming and snorkelling stops.
Depending on your route, stop in Camogli or return to Tigullio. Do not add too many stops: arriving from the sea is already part of the experience.
Keep a simple alternative ready: Chiavari for arcades, shops and local life, or Moneglia for a compact village and a walk.
Before you go
Four useful things to know.
Are three days enough?
Yes, if you choose one area each day. The centre and bays work well together; trails and boat trips deserve a day at their own pace.
Do you need a car?
A car is useful for reaching La Collina sul Mare, about 15 minutes from Sestri Levante. Along the coast, trains and seasonal boats often help avoid parking and traffic.
When is the best time for the beach or a walk?
In summer, visit the Bay of Silence early in the morning. For Punta Manara and other trails, choose the cooler hours and check the weather and trail conditions.
What if we are travelling with a dog?
Pets are genuinely welcome at La Collina sul Mare. Beach rules and access can change during the season, so always check the latest local notices.
Your base above Sestri Levante
Explore the coast.
Then return to the quiet of the hills.
La Collina sul Mare is an entire pet-friendly home with a panoramic terrace over the Gulf of Tigullio, about 15 minutes by car from Sestri Levante.
